Georgia TAVT
Most modern Georgia-titled purchases use 7% TAVT on fair market value. Dealer purchases can reduce that value by qualifying trade-in value and rebates/cash discounts; private-party purchases do not receive the dealer trade-in reduction.
Title and registration
The calculator includes Georgia’s standard $18 title fee and $20 passenger registration fee. State-assessed value can still change the TAVT amount.
Worked example
A dealer vehicle with a $35,000 assessed value, $5,000 trade-in and $1,000 qualifying rebate uses an estimated TAVT base of $29,000.
