Missouri vehicle sales tax
Missouri applies 4.225% state sales tax plus local sales tax based on where the purchaser lives. Tax is based on net purchase price after qualifying rebate and trade-in allowance.
Title and registration
The calculator includes the $8.50 title fee and $9 title-processing charge. Registration depends on taxable horsepower or vehicle weight and has additional processing/local fees.
Worked example
A $30,000 purchase with a $5,000 trade-in and $1,000 rebate has a $24,000 tax base before state and local rates.
