Alaska purchase tax
Alaska does not impose a statewide general sales tax. Some municipalities impose local sales taxes, so any local purchase-tax rate must be entered separately.
Title and registration
The $15 title fee is known. Registration and motor vehicle registration tax can depend on residence, model year and local rules, so the final registration amount is not automatically treated as exact.
Worked example
If your municipality has no local sales tax, the purchase-tax portion can be zero even though title and registration charges still apply.
